Diindolylmethane, a phytonutrient found in cruciferous vegetables, exhibits a molecular structure similar to estrogen and can act as an antagonist by binding to estrogen receptors. Hormonal imbalances are often observed in individuals who are overweight or obese, and DIM supplementation can aid in rebalancing these levels. High estrogen levels are also known to contribute to fat accumulation, so by reducing estrogen levels, DIM may help prevent the accumulation of excess body fat.
